Amanda L. Thompson selected to the 2017 San Diego Super Lawyers Rising Stars
Amanda was recently selected to the San Diego Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2017, an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice. Only 2.5% of attorneys in San Diego receive this distinction.

Amanda L. Thompson elected Vice President, Thomas Jefferson Alumni Association Board of Directors
Amanda is an elected Director on the Alumni Association Board of Directors of Thomas Jefferson School of Law and was recently elected to serve as Vice President on its Executive Committee. Amanda also periodically volunteers at the Employee Rights Self Help Clinic at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, which provides free consultations to people with employment-law questions.
Other Community Involvement
Amanda is also a member of California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) and has been a member of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and often assists with special projects done by the Community Outreach Committee of Lawyers Club of San Diego, for which the committee organizes fundraising and volunteers for hands-on work for a selected project for various organizations in the greater San Diego community.

Amanda Completes Term as Elected Director to the New Lawyers Division of SDCBA
Amanda completed her term in late 2014 as an elected Director on the New Lawyer Division Board of Directors (now the Forum for Emerging Lawyers) of the San Diego County Bar Association, where she Co-Chaired the Community Service and Continuing Legal Education Committees.

Community Outreach: Lawyers Club of San Diego
Amanda previously served as initial Project Leader for the Lawyers Club Community Outreach Committee‘s Project Hands to Help, benefitting The San Diego LGBT Community Center. The committee organized fundraising and hands-on work needed to do much needed interior and exterior cleaning, painting, and repairs. In 2011-2012, Amanda was a project leader for a project for the Teen Options program of San Diego Youth Services. The committee painted walls, installed new flooring, and obtained the help of licensed contractors to install lighting and repair drywall, as well as obtaining donated furniture to make the community space more welcome.
